Promise Egbu

Know your Worth, LLC is pleased to announce our 2021 Know Your Worth Scholarship recipient: Promise Egbu. Promise is a senior at Mansfield Summit High School where he is a member of the National Honor Society, Teen Leadership Association, and Magna Cum Laude distinction. He is in the top ten percent of his graduating class, and completes high school one year earlier than his peers. He has also maintained his position on the academic honor roll, and received the “Academic Excellence Award” for his achievements. Promise has received a verified certificate of achievement for completing “Entrepreneurship in Emerging Economies,” a course of study offered by HarvardX, an online learning initiative of Harvard University. He is also a varsity basketball, and track and field athlete who competed as a member of the St. Paul’s Lions team for St. Paul’s Preparatory Academy. 

 

Promise is an active member of The Potter’s House of Dallas, where he serves as a teaching assistant for the children’s ministry. He has also volunteered at the Arlington Public Library, New-To-You Resale Shop, and the Feed My Starving Children organization. In addition, Promise participates in several community service projects throughout the year such as the Project Widow’s Outreach, where he joins his fellow church members in serving meals, care, and prayer to the elderly in Arlington, Texas.

 

Promise was accepted to over fifteen colleges and universities across the United States. After he carefully considered the opportunities from every institution, he ultimately decided to pursue his postsecondary education in Arlington, Texas. He will attend the University of Texas at Arlington in the fall, and major in Nursing. 

 

Promise Egbu is the son of Mr. Promise Egbu Senior, and Mrs. Esther Egbu. He is also the brother of Prestelle Egbu, Portia Egbu, and Parkston Egbu.
